Ocular globe rupture

Presentation

Right eye direct blunt trauma and sudden vision loss and pain.

Patient Data

Age: 5 years
Gender: Male
CT

Right eye anterior chamber, uveo-scleral layer, and lens tear without obvious bone fracture are seen. A relatively thick adenoid in the nasopharynx is also seen. Right preseptal and lacrimal gland soft tissue swelling is noted.

Case Discussion

The ocular globe rupture is usually due to high energy direct force and is relatively uncommon in children and also is an ophthalmology emergency.
