Gender: Male

CT Cervical spine (selected images)

This is a type II odontoid fracture by classification of Anderson and D'Alonzo, corresponding to odontoid neck fracture. There isa anterior spondylolisthesis C2 in relation to C1.

Case Discussion

Type II odontoid fractures are usually unstable and prone to non-consolidation because they occur in areas of poor vascularization.
