Odontoid fracture - type III

Fracture through the odontoid base and into the left mass of C2 (including left transverse foramen). No vertebral artery involvement.
Case Discussion
As the odontoid fracture classification this fracture is a type III and has the best prognosis for healing because of the larger surface area of the fracture.
