Oesophageal A-rings

Severe reflux.

Patient Data

Age: 65
Gender: Female
Modality: Fluoroscopy

In the lower oesophagus, a few centimetres superior to the lower oesophageal spinchter, there are transient linear filling defects peripherally in keeping with A-rings. 

Case Discussion

A-rings are an incidental finding on barium swallows, representing oesophageal muscle contraction.
