Info

Water-soluble swallow.

Almost complete luminal occlusion at the level of the distal third of the oesophagus with just a tiny rim of contrast bypassing a large intraluminal mass. The superior edge is shouldered.

The intraluminal mass extends down almost to the level of the gastro-oesophageal junction.

Case Discussion

This fluoroscopic examination illustrates a huge oesophageal malignancy with almost complete luminal occlusion.

The shouldered edge is typical of a malignancy.

Prior CT showed narrowing of distal oesophagus.

OGD: showed a malignant-looking tumour.

Barium swallow was performed prior to stenting.
