Barium swallow demonstrates a lobulated polypoid mass in the inferior esophagus mostly filling the lumen, but not grossly impeding passage of liquid barium.

CT demonstrates thickening of the wall of the gastro-esophageal junction with a mass filling the lumen of the esophagus. A number of low density lesions are also seen in the liver, likely to represent metastases.
