Esophageal dilatation due to obstructing gastric band

Presentation

Chest pain radiating to back and associated vomiting.

Patient Data

Age: 55
Gender: Female

Marked dilatation of the esophagus with an air fluid level seen at the level of the aortic arch.

Case Discussion

The patient is seen to have gastric band in-situ which has an abnormal horizontal orientation and was confirmed operatively to be the obstructing cause.
