Distal esophageal malignancy with dysphagia. For palliative treatment.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years

Distal esophageal covered stent traversing the gastroesophageal junction (GEJ).

The structure of the stent and position is well delineated.

Case Discussion

Esophageal stenting is a commonly offered procedure for esophageal strictures. The majority are placed in those with malignancy, not amenable to curative surgery.

Stents may be placed endoscopically or fluroscopically.
