Old thalamic hemorrhage simulating a paraventricular mass

Previous history of intracranial haemorrhage.


CT Brain (selected images)

Hypodense mass in the left subependymal/thalamic region, bulging into the lateral ventricle.


CT Brain (3 weeks ago)

Previous CT showing that this patient presented with basal ganglia hemorrhage. 

Case Discussion

A basal ganglia hemorrhage is a common form of intracerebral hemorrhage, usually as a result of poorly controlled long-standing hypertension.
