Fall from standing height onto the flexed elbow.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Elbow radiograph revealed a displaced non-comminuted olecranon fracture, there was no subluxation. This characterizes a Mayo type IIA olecranon fracture.

Olecranon fractures usually result from direct trauma to the olecranon itself, such as a fall from standing height onto the flexed elbow.
