Olecranon fracture

Radiographs revealed an undisplaced non-comminuted olecranon fracture. This characterizes a Mayo type IA olecranon fracture.
Case Discussion
Olecranon fractures usually result from direct trauma to the olecranon itself, such as a fall from standing height onto the flexed elbow.
In the present case, however, the trauma mechanism was reported as physical assault, most likely in intimate partner violence.
