Olfactory groove meningioma

Presentation

Decrease in visual acuity bilaterally.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male

There is a large well-circumscribed extra-axial dural-based mass along the floor of the anterior cranial fossa and the olfactory grooves, measuring 6 x 5.5 x 2.8 cm. It displays an isosignal to the cortical grey matter on T1, T2, a high signal on FLAIR with vivid homogeneous enhancement, and a dural tail sign on postcontrast sequences. Surrounding vasogenic edema with a mass effect on the frontal horns, optic chiasma as well as extension to the pituitary gland which is compressed with posterior displacement of the infundibulum.
