Patient with known leptomeningeal lymphoma on treatment.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

Subcutaneously placed Ommaya port overlying right frontal bone.


Right Ommaya port with catheter extending down to right lateral ventricle.

Case Discussion

An Ommaya reservoir consists of a subcutaneously placed port and catheter with a tip in cerebral ventricular system.

It is mainly used for direct administration of chemotherapy in cases of leptomeningeal lymphoproliferative diseases such like lymphoma.
