Presentation
Abnormal anterior abdominal wall at delivery.
Patient Data
Age: Neonate (day 0)
Gender: Male
From the case:
Omphalocoele
Frontal

There is a large soft tissue mass projected over the right side of the abdomen.
Case Discussion
Given the history of a large abdominal mass and this radiograph, the differential diagnosis is between omphalocoele and gastroschisis. In an omphalocoele, a membrane covers the herniated bowel whereas in gastroschisis, there is no external membrane and multiple loops of herniated bowel can be resolved as they lie atop of one another.
