Grey matter lined CSF cleft extending from the right lateral ventricle to the right frontotemporal cortex. The septum pellucidum cannot be seen.

Case Discussion

Open lip schizencephaly is commonly bilateral, however, in this case it appears unilateral. Closed lip clefts can be hard to identify on CT and MRI is recommended.

As the cleft walls are separately seen the cleft is filled with CSF, so it is categorized as open lip schizencephaly.
