Fusiform enlargement of the left optic nerve with oval-shaped mass formation seen reaching to the optic disc anteriorly and extending to the extra-orbital segment of the optic nerve posteriorly ending about 8 mm from the optic chiasm as well as abutting the medial rectus muscle. It elicits isointense signal on T1 WI, high signal on T2 WI with intense homogeneous enhancement. It is seen measuring 1.6 X 2.9 X 1.7 cm along its maximal transverse, anteroposterior and craniocaudal dimensions respectively.
Subsequent mild proptosis of the left eye globe.
Case Discussion
Left optic nerve mass with no chiasmatic extension impressive of optic nerve glioma.
