Optic neuritis

Left visual loss. Hypertension

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Female

Swelling of the retrobulbar intra-orbital segment of the left optic nerve with high T2 signal well-visualized on both axial/coronal T2 fat sat with enhancement on postcontrast T1 fat sat sequences.

Extensive white matter T2 hyperintensity was seen in both cerebral hemispheres, suggestive of small vessel chronic ischemia (particularly in hypertensive patient).
