Presentation

Facial trauma with remarkable right upper eyelid swelling and right eye proptosis.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

Right orbital medial wall blow-out fracture with an orbital fat hernia but remarkable emphysema in right orbital cavity extraconal more prominent in the upper segment of the cavity and also eyelids more prominent in upper eyelid are seen which has led to remarkable right eye proptosis.

Case Discussion

The occurrence of proptosis and remarkable extraconal and eyelids emphysema especially upper eyelid in orbital medial wall blow-out fracture is an unusual finding which is seen in this case. Sneezing and nose blowing can be other causes of such an event.
