Case contributed by Dr Mohamed Samy

Right orbit blunt trauma

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

Right lamina papyracea fracture with herniation of the orbital fat and no muscle entrapment.

Right orbital emphysema (which will appear as lucent eyebrow at the facial radiography).

Case Discussion

Such isolated blowout lamina papyracea fracture is fairly uncommon, more commonly associated with inferior wall fracture

No need for immediate surgical intervention unless there is associated muscle entrapment or early enophthalmos.
