Orbital cavernous haemangioma

Case contributed by Dr Ian Bickle

Presentation

Presented with right proptosis.

Patient Data

Age: 45
Gender: Female
MRI

Well defined intra-conal mass with a low signal pseudocapsule and patchy early enhancement, which displaces the optic nerve medially.

Case Discussion

The features are typical of an oribtal cavernous haemangioma.

Akin to haemangiomas elsewhere, the enhancement would fill in progressively and appear homogeneous if delayed post contrast images were obtained.
