Facial trauma and remarkable right side eyelids swelling and pain.
Patient Data
There are displaced comminuted fractures in the right orbit roof or frontal sinus floor with large volume emphysema within eyelids and upper orbital cavity. Right side proptosis and haemorrhage within the frontal sinus are seen. Note also minimally displaced fracture in left orbit floor.
Case Discussion
The case is a 35-year-old male who came to the emergency room with a history of facial trauma and remarkable right side eyelids swelling and pain, non-contrast orbital MDCT requested and displaced comminuted fractures in the right orbit roof with emphysema in eyelids and orbital cavity and right side proptosis detected. The orbital roof fracture's main complication is dural tear and in case of dural tear, proptosis, or limitation of eye movement must be surgically treated.
