Oroantral fistula

Case Discussion

The oro-antral fistula (OAF) is the condition which makes shivers run up and down a dentist's spine.

The condition almost commonly occurs following a complicated upper tooth extraction, when a fistulous communication develops between the oral cavity and maxillary antrum (sinus).

As an old university lecturer use to quote' ' A dentist feels a right oaf, if his patient gets an oaf'.

Dictionary definition of oaf:  A person regarded as stupid or clumsy.
