- hypointense line traversing the distal acromion in keeping with an os acromiale with a fibrous synchondrosis
- acromion type II
- mild capsular hypertrophy along with acromioclavicular joint
- intrasubstance tear along with supraspinatus tendon anterior fibers measuring about 3 mm next to the supraspinatus tendon insertion on the articular side, demonstrating fluid signal
- mild subacromial-subdeltoid bursitis
Case Discussion
Os acromiale is an anatomical variant and represents an unfused accessory center of ossification of the acromion of the scapula. Instability across the synchondrosis can lead them to sometimes being symptomatic.
