- a well-corticated ossicle superior to the dense and posterior to the anterior arch of C1
increased atlantodental interval
- compression of the spinal cord at the level of atlantoaxial joint, with high signal intensity on T2W images in the spinal cord at the same level
Case Discussion
Os odontoideum which is dystopic and causes atlantoaxial subluxation and narrowing of the spinal canal with subsequent myelopathy.
