Presentation

Falling down the stairs. Pain on outside of foot. No trauma history.

Patient Data

Age: 35
Gender: Male
X-ray

Triangular ossicle adjacent to the navicular bone. Additional dorsal and plantar calcaneal spur.

CT

Large and small ossicle on the medial side of the navicular bone. Ossicle posterior to the talus (Os trigonum). Dorsal and plantar calcaneal spur.

Case Discussion

Three types of accessory navicular bone are described  (GEIST Classification). Type 2 should be shaped triangular and can be connected to the navicular bone by cartilage.
