Presentation

Anterior proximal tibial pain.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

Fragmentation and abnormal T2 signal in the anterior tibial tubercle with associated bone marrow edema. There are also high T2 signals in the anterior cruciate ligament suggestive of a sprain.

Case Discussion

Features are consistent with acute Osgood-Schlatter disease. It occurs due to repeated microtrauma at the patellar ligament insertion onto the tibial tuberosity.
