Info
Deep infrapatellar bursal effusion. Distal patellar tendon thickening with loss of its sharp anterior margin and associated anterior hypoechoic soft tissue thickening. Hypervascularity in the thickened tendon and the adjacent thickened soft tissue. Intact patellar tendon. No fragmentation of the tibial tuberosity.
The contralateral side shows normal findings.
Case Discussion
An adolescent developed anterior knee pain and swelling after playing sports for a few days.
Ultrasound findings of distal patellar tendon thickening, prepatellar tendon soft tissue thickening, and deep infrapatellar bursitis raise the possibility of Osgood-Schlatter disease.
