MRI shows inflammatory changes near the anterior tibial tuberosity (pre-tibial edema, T2 fat sat hypersignal, etc.) with bony fragmentation, compatible with Osgood-Schlatter disease in this young patient. Clinically, this condition was also suspected.
This is an example of acute Osgood-Schlatter disease.
Case Discussion
Osgood-Schlatter disease (OSD) is a chronic fatigue injury due to repeated microtrauma at the patellar ligament insertion onto the tibial tuberosity.
