Failure of ossification of the anterior tibial tuberosity, and soft tissue edema on the lateral projection.
Case Discussion
The main complication of Osgood-Schlatter disease in the long term can present with chronic pain due to failure of ossification of the anterior tibial tuberosity.
Remember that the anterior tibial tuberosity develops as a secondary center of ossification between 7-9 years of age, fusing with the tibia between 13-15 years in girls and, 15-19 years in boys.
