Osteoblastoma - cervical spine

Presentation

Local left neck pain.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

There is an expansile lytic/sclerotic bony mass centered on the left half of C3 vertebral body and pedicle, encasing the transverse foramen. The lytic component is mainly central. No soft tissue component is seen. 

Case Discussion

The CT features are most consistent with an osteoblastoma.

The spinal column is involved in ~40% (range 32-46%); mainly the posterior column. The cervical spine is involved in 9-39% of all spinal lesions.
