Gender: Male

Defect of the articular surface of the medial femoral condyle, involving its lateral surface. Two intra-articular fragment can be identified (arrow). 

Case Discussion

Osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) is the end result of aseptic separation of an osteochondral fragment with gradual fragmentation of the articular surface. It is often associated with intraarticular loose bodies.

This lesion is one of the reasons that cause secondary synovial chondromatosis
