Presentation

17 years old patient with left leg swelling

Patient Data

Age: 17 years old
Gender: Male
MRI
  • Right tibial posterior aspect  pedunculated metaphyseal region bony outgrowth projecting away from the epiphysis with associated broadening of the metaphysis and medullary continuity.
  • A thin regular distinct surface cartilaginous cap is seen measuring about 6 mm in thickness eliciting intermediate to low signal on T1 WIs and high signal on T2 WIs with focal areas of enchondral ossification, just beneath the cartilage cap.
  • No erosion or destruction of adjacent bone.
  • No asscoiated soft tissue masses seen.

Case Discussion

Right tibial peduculated osteochondroma in immature skeleton lacking signs of malignant transformation.
