Arm discomfort.

Age: 14 years
Gender: Male
Modality: CT

There is proximal humeral bony excrescence as well as a protrusion of the cortex laterally with indentation of the adjacent deltoid muscle, the medullary cavity of the exostosis is directly continuous with that of the humerus showing ground glass matrix , this is associated with cortical thinning and expansion of the proximal right humeral diametaphysis. These findings are suggestive of exostosis

Case Discussion

Osteochondromas are a relatively common imaging finding, accounting for 10-15% of all bone tumours and ~35% of all benign bone tumours. Although usually thought of as a benign bone tumour, they may be thought of as a developmental anomaly. They are frequently asymptomatic
