Knee trauma, came to exclude internal derangement. Post traumatic pain. No swelling.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

A bony protruberance is seen projecting from the medial aspect of the proximal tibia and directed away from the joint space. It shows a smooth cortical outline.

The cortex and medulla of the bony excrescence are in continuity with the cortex and medullary cavity of the underlying bone

Case Discussion

Cartilage capped exostosis or osteochondroma is the commonest bone neoplasm.

The plain radiography is enough to make the diagnosis.

MRI may be requested to evaluate the overlying cartilaginous cap and to rule out any malignant transformation.
