Osteochondroma - tibia

Presentation

Painless swelling of the distal right leg.

Patient Data

Age: 10 years
Gender: Male

A sessile bony mass arising from the posterior aspect of the distal tibial metaphysis. The medullary cavity is in continuity with that of the parent bone as well as the cortex which appears thinned, with no fracture. The cartilage cap was 5 mm in thickness on ultrasound (not shown). No periosteal reaction is seen.
