The skull demonstrates prominent wormian bones and platybasia.
The long bones demonstrate numerous horizontal lines (zebra stripes) associated with cyclical bisphosphonate therapy. Additionally, a number of united fractures are noted, particularly of the femurs and left tibia.
Features are consistent with osteogenesis imperfecta.
Case Discussion
Osteogenesis imperfecta is a cause of multiple fractures in young patients. It is a very important diagnosis as it must be differentiated from non-accidental injury.
