Presentation

Pain and swelling of the middle finger of the right hand.

Patient Data

Age: Adult

At presentation

x-ray

Soft tissue swelling around the proximal phalanx of the middle finger of the right hand. This is associated with focal periosteal reaction along the shaft of the phalanx.

On follow up

x-ray

A rounded sclerotic lesion is noted at the proximal phalanx of the middle finger of the right hand surrounded with lucent line and mild sclerosis of the surrounding marrow.

Still noted soft tissue swelling around the phalanx.

Case Discussion

Features are classic for osteoid osteoma, at the proximal phalanx of the middle finger.
