Osteoma of the external auditory canal

An irregular margin benign-appearing small pedunculated osseous mass lesion height up to 7 mm and axial width up to 8 mm in right side external auditory canal originating from the anterior wall of the bony segment with partial obliteration of the canal and fluid and soft tissues accumulated upstream and thickening of right side tympanic membrane are seen.
Case Discussion
The case illustrates the non-contrast MDCT features of the osteoma of the external auditory canal. This type of osteoma is relatively uncommon and can cause decreased hearing acuity.
