Presentation

Left shoulder pain for two months.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

Subchondral collapse and fragmentation of humeral head.

  • moderate joint effusion

  • osteonecrosis of the humeral head with fragmentation and involvement of almost all the entire superior medial portion 

Case Discussion

The imaging features are typical of avascular necrosis of humeral head. It is the second most common site of avascular necrosis following the hip.
