Presentation

Foot trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
x-ray

A comminuted fracture of the proximal phalanx of the great toe and incidental osteopoikilosis. 

Sacrum

ct

Axial bone window at the level of the sacrum for the same patient revealed multiple hyperdense bone marrow foci are noted, in keeping with osteopoikilosis.

Case Discussion

Osteopoikilosis is a sclerosing bony dysplasia with multiple enostoses. It is a rare inherited benign condition incidentally found on skeletal x rays.
