The above MRI studies show multiple ovoid, hypointense areas within the marrow cavity which are hypointense on all sequences, consistent with the appearance of multiple bone islands. They are juxta-articular in location and involving all extra-axial joints in a bilaterally symmetric fashion. These are diagnostic findings of osteopoikilosis.
