An ill-defined lytic lesion is noted on the distal meta-diaphysis of the right fibula. The bone is insufflated and most of the cortex surrounding the lesion was destroyed. There is a single-layer lamellated periosteal reaction along the fibular shaft.
Case Discussion
The initial suspicion was that of a giant cell tumor of bone or chondrosarcoma.
A biopsy was performed and the histopathology report concluded the lesion was a central high-grade osteosarcoma.
