Ovarian dermoid

A lobulated well-encapsulated mass showing fat and calcification inside; seen deeply seated in the pelvis, posterior in the midline and to the left side of the uterus appears to arise from the left adnexal (ovarian) region, with an isodense area is seen in the periphery of the lesion, likely represents ovarian stroma. No obvious post-contrast enhancement is seen.
Case Discussion
Being the most common fat-containing mass arising from the ovary, ovarian dermoid was considered as the primary diagnosis.
Differential diagnosis:
- ovarian lipoma
- ovarian lipoleiomyoma
- colonic lipoma
Final histopathological diagnosis: Ovarian dermoid.
