Ovarian dermoid cyst

Case contributed by Roberto Schubert

Pelvic mass detected on ultrasound.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

CT scout view shows coarse calcific densities in the pelvis.

Axial non-contrast scan shows a large posterior pelvic mass lesion of predominately fat content and soft tissue component with coarse calcifications.

Case Discussion

The presence of a fatty pelvic mass in a female with associated calcifications makes mature cystic teratoma of the ovary the most likely diagnosis.
