Ovarian dermoid cyst

Presentation

Right-sided lower abdominal pain for the last few months.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female

Transabdominal scan

ultrasound

The right ovary shows a thin-walled cyst with mixed contents along with the presence of the acoustic shadow. There is no vascularity in the cyst wall. The cyst measures 99 x 74 x 71 mm. The right ovarian parenchyma is compressed and displaced peripherally.

The left ovary shows a normal follicular pattern. Uterus shows normal myometrial echopattern. There is no endometrial thickening.

There is no ascites.

The appendix showed normal diameter and compressibility (image not uploaded).

Case Discussion

A premenopausal female presented with the right lower abdomen pain for the last few months. Ultrasound findings favor the right ovarian dermoid cyst.
