Ovarian ectopic pregnancy - ruptured

Presentation

Diffuse abdominal pain over few days with associated dizziness and pallor.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Large pelvic soft tissue mass with multiple cystic spaces is seen cranial to the uterus and urinary bladder. One of these cystic spaces represents a gestational sac with a viable fetus inside (gestational age of about 8 weeks). There is a moderate amount of intraperitoneal fluid with a fluid-fluid level representing hemoperitoneum.

Case Discussion

The patient was transferred to operative theater and a ruptured ovarian ectopic pregnancy was confirmed.
