Both ovaries are symmetrically enlarged and occupied by multiple peripherally enhanced cysts ( spoke-wheel appearance ) associated with ascites.
The enlarged ovaries cause mass effect on both distal ureters ( uretero-hydrophones ) and compression sigmoid colon.
Case Discussion
Usually ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome is considered in cases post ovulation induction, one of chief differential diagnosis would be theca lutein cyst.
The clinical manifestations include abdominal distention, lower abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.
