Ovarian mass: mucinous adenoma

Presentation

Palpable lower abdominal mass. Hysterectomy 25 yrs back.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Female
Modality: Ultrasound

Septated cystic mass in lower abdomen without nodules or calcification. A second cystic mass was abutting the larger one on the left side. There were tiny whirling echoes within the mass.

Doppler showed some kind of artifact which is of uncertain aetiology.

Case Discussion

CT (not available) demonstrated no nodal metastasis.

Histopathology: mucinous adenoma without malignant change.
