Presentation
Abdominal distension and palpable mass on physical examination.
Patient Data
Large complex ovarian cystic lesion (130 x 170 x 200 mm) with solid components, papillary projections, and thick internal septations arising from the pelvis and extends superiorly until the level of umbilicus region.
Marked mass effect on abdominopelvic organs with no local invasion or vascular encasement.
The mass shows post-contrast enhancement and water restriction on DWI images.
The ovaries cannot be defined separately from the mentioned lesion.
No evidence of obvious malignant implant is depicted in the abdominopelvic cavity.
Case Discussion
Large abdominopelvic cystic lesion; pathology proved ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma, which is the malignant form of ovarian serous tumor, the most common type of ovarian epithelial tumor. It is the most common type of ovarian malignancy.
