Ovarian torsion

US positive findings of ovarian torsion:
- enlarged right ovary (compared to the left ovary) with peripherally displaced follicles with hyperechoic central stroma
- absent right ovarian Doppler flow with normal flow in left ovary
- enlarged and twisted right vascular pedicle (whirlpool sign)
- mild free pelvic fluid
Case Discussion
Laparoscopy after a few hours has confirmed an infarcted ovary with clots.
